I have a sump which is has water all year round. These sumps work great; These plastic ones last for several years before something rusts out. One thing I do is use a plastic tie strap to adjust the float to the level I want. I’ve had the screw which holds the float down rust out… not good. The tie strap resolved it.

Worked flawlessly for 11 years!, April 27, 2009

I have a crawlspace that runs anywhere from 12″ to 18″ high (extremely tight), 3 houses from a lake. The house is on very low land (the land is actually at lake level), and if the weather so much as drizzles, there is standing water under the house. In the Spring and Fall, this Flotec pump kicks on roughly every 2 minutes, 24 hours a day, during these rainy seasons. I installed it over 11 years ago, and it has never failed to do just that… pump water out every 2 minutes…. for all that time. It just now seems to have finally given up the ghost. Considering the CONSTANT workload thrown at this thing, you can’t possibly ask for more. You DO need to anchor it to the bottom of the plastic pit-tub with some rocks/bricks to keep it steady and in position (lean them on top of the base), but if you simply take the time to install it properly like that, it works like crazy! Never had one single problem where it failed to operate. I am buying another one right now as it’s replacement and expect it to provide another decade of non-stop workhorse service!

This sump pump is replacement for 10 yrs old(same brand). This pump is quite, powerful and easy to install. I feel more secure, good investment and hopefully more durable. Supplier was also quick in delivery.

I purchased this pressure tank without seeing the tank in person, my mistake. The cover flange is hardened plastic and trying to screw a galvanized pipe into the plastic even with teflon tape seemed stupid but the company should know what its doing. Of course wanting it to be tight you screw it in tightly and place the tank where you need it and begin the plumbing process. 3-5 minutes into the job I hear a crack and sure enough the plastic is shot. Now I have no water system and the website says the replacement part is out of stock and it will be two weeks. Guess I’m not the only one having issues with this part. Don’t think I can hold it that long. Hello gas station restroom. I would not buy this product again unless it was the only option or the take the plastic out and put in a more sturdy substance.

Great little pump!, November 25, 2012

I bought this so that I would have running water in my van, for drinking, cooking, washing hands & dishes etc., when I go camping. It works great. I used it for 3 weekend camping trips and also when I traveled long distances, I sleep overnight occasionally in my van, batteries are still working. I also have a hand pump for just in case, but so far haven’t had to use it.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT FOR ITS PURPOSE!!, March 25, 2012

This is NOT the first time I have used a “5-gal Bottle Battery Powered Water Pump”, but this time I ordered TWO (2) of them, as I must admit, they have not lasted that long of a period from their usage.

However, I believe the products I just received through Amazon.com are the “BEST” made product I have ever seen. The Company who made these two or represents the manufacturer, even included a small informational paper with the pump, explaining its usage and how to make sure you are familiar with all of the parts (i.e. battery compartment; spout; on/off switch (WHICH I BELIEVE IS THE “BEST” DESIGN OF A “SWITCH” I HAVE SEEN ON ANY OF THESE BATTERY OPERATED PUMPS!!). I surely and unequivocally recommend this particular “5-gal Bottle Battery Powered Water Pump”!!!

It took me some time to get this pump into my well, through no fault of the Red Lion or the Vendor. So I have only a few days of experience with it. I have not run any pressure or volume tests, but this one-horsepower pump offers less of both than the 1.5 hp pump which it replaced.

Hard to beat the price anywhere.

So far there is adequate water in my home. Next summer, with more than an acre to water, we shall see.

This pump has good design ideas (no moving parts for on/off switch). I bought this pump (~$200) in Sept., 2010. About three months later, the on/off switch failed. The reason is that a hardness coating covered the stainless steel bar on the switch so the switch stopped functioning. Then, I used a different switch. In Dec., 2011, the pump failed. There was oil in the sump pit. It is obvious that the pump seal failed. It appears that the cap nuts were heavily rusted and caused the pump seal failure. Simmer replaced the pump for me very quickly. But, it seems that the cap nuts may rust and fail again. They should use stainless steel cap nuts. I dismantled the failed pump and found that pump and motor were well made. But, a little mistake can change everything.
