Useless Pump Controller,
This has has got to be the most useless sump pump controller on the market. My basement has flooded twice because of this controller. Save yourself some work and heartache and buy the float type switch. Because this one is guaranteed to fail.
The only reason I gave it a one star is because I was unable to rate it anything less.

This pump has good design ideas (no moving parts for on/off switch). I bought this pump (~$200) in Sept., 2010. About three months later, the on/off switch failed. The reason is that a hardness coating covered the stainless steel bar on the switch so the switch stopped functioning. Then, I used a different switch. In Dec., 2011, the pump failed. There was oil in the sump pit. It is obvious that the pump seal failed. It appears that the cap nuts were heavily rusted and caused the pump seal failure. Simmer replaced the pump for me very quickly. But, it seems that the cap nuts may rust and fail again. They should use stainless steel cap nuts. I dismantled the failed pump and found that pump and motor were well made. But, a little mistake can change everything.
